Lists and details
The “lists” section is a section where you can examine Faselis press release distribution lists and create your custom lists. You can click on any of the list categories on the left side to open up the lists found under them.
When you click on the list you have selected from the lists found under the categories, the publications found in the Faselis lists are shown in the form of a tree hierarchy. When you click on any of the publication types, the period details of the publications found under that type are opened up. Finally, when you click on any period, then the publications having that period are displayed as tree branches.
When you click on any of the branches in the list tree structure, you will be presented with a list of people registered on that list on the right side of the screen. On the right, just above the list, you will see the total number of people registered under that list.
On Faselis, lists are formed of 3 parts, namely people, departments and offices. By clicking on the “People”, “Departments” and “Offices” boxes found on the right top, you can navigate between these three different list content.
You can download the list you are viewing or the person, department, and office contact information found under the list in MS Excel format by clicking on the “Export to Excel” icon found on the very top of the right side of the screen.
List Management
Faselis does not force you to use pre-prepared lists. If you wish, you can click on the “List Management” field found on the right top section of the screen and create custom lists to be used by you and your colleagues in order to deliver your messages to your custom lists or both the standard and the custom lists.
The “Lists” section is where you can examine the press release distribution lists and can create your custom lists. By clicking on the list categories found on the left section, you can open up the lists underneath.
The custom list function provided by Faselis is a fully dynamic model. The Faselis list structure has a tree-like hierarchy within itself. You can add another list found on Faselis or a branch of a list to your custom list in the form of a Sub-List and can remove the sub-lists in the lists you add to your custom list as you wish. Similarly, after you have added sub-lists to your list, you can remove the people, departments, and offices found on that list which you do not want on your list and can also add people not found on the lists to your list.
The most important feature the dynamic structure offers is that when you add another Faselis list to a list you have created, any updates made by the Faselis team to that list will be automatically reflected on your custom list. For example, when a new person or publication is added to a list you have added, these people and publications are automatically added to your list. The same is true when they are removed from lists.
You are not forced to add sub-lists to your custom list. If you wish, you can also create a custom list that if formed of the people you have selected and which contains no sub-list.
List Selection:
When you click on the “List Management” icon, you will be presented a list of the brands for which you are authorized. On the top of this list is another brand named “General.” While you can use customer press release lists you create on Faselis only in the distribution of a single brand by identifying it with that brand, you can also define the brand as “General” and use it in the distribution of all brands of your organization.
In order to create or manage your list, you need to select either the “General” brand or one of the brands you are authorized for. If there are many brands you are authorized for, then you can use the “Fast Brand Search” field located on top to access them faster.
The defined lists for the brand you select will be displayed on the right side of the screen. If you wish to delete these lists, you need to click on the (X) icon located on the right of the list. If you wish to manage a list, you can click on the (X) icon in front of the name of the list. In order to create a new list, enter the list name in the “New List” field located on the top and click on the “Add” icon.
Creating New/Editing:
When you create a new list or when you click on the edit icon, you will be presented with a two-section screen. The left side will contain the general list category tree structure, while the right side will contain the tree structure of the list you are managing. If you have created a new list, then there will be no other branches under this tree.
From the list tree on the left side, you can add the lists or sub-lists you want under your custom list by selecting the box in front of them. If you wish, you can remove the lower branches of the list you have added to your custom list by clicking the boxes in front of them.
For example, you can add the Automotive News list found under the Automotive Lists category under your own list, but decide to remove the Blogs and Monthly Magazines from your list.
People:
When you click on the “People” section on the left side, the list of people under your existing custom list will be displayed on the right side of the screen. The people in orange are the ones that are also present in other lists you have added under your list. The people in gray are the ones blocked under your list; thus, no distribution will be made to these people. The people in blue are the ones that you have specifically added to your list.
If you wish to block a person, you simply need to click on the (X) icon on the right side of the person’s name. In order to add a new person to your list, you need to click on the “Detailed Search” box on the top. When you click on this box, you will be presented with the detailed search options on the left side. You can execute a search by filling out the ones you wish from these options and you can add the ones you wish to add to your list by clicking on the box located on the right side of the person’s name, which is just in front of publication the person is affiliated with. When the person is added to your list, he/she will appear in blue.
One thing you need to pay attention to when adding people to your list is that the people are added together with their affiliated publication. In other words, if a person is working for both a magazine and a newspaper and you add this person to your list with his magazine affiliation (by clicking on the box in front of the Magazine name), then that person will be automatically removed from your list if his/her affiliation with the magazine ends.
Departments/Offices:
In order to edit the departments and offices, which are the other legs of the list tree; you simply need to click on the one you wish from the “Departments” or “Offices” sections on the left side. Just as in the case of “People”, you can block the departments and offices you do not want in the “Departments” and “Offices” sections and can add new ones from the detailed search section.
